Commissioning Agent - Job Advertisement

Ennovate is an Energy Service Company (ESCO) located in Aurora, Colorado that offers energy efficiency, design consulting and commissioning services to institutional facility owners such as schools, colleges, and hospitals. Project skills offered to these clients include energy efficiency consulting, HVAC consulting, Energy Savings Performance Contracting and commissioning services advising clients on optimum facility comfort and energy efficiency.

We are currently seeking an experienced HVAC/Mechanical Engineer and/or Facility Energy Efficiency Engineer to lead commissioning efforts for our clients. Our clients hire Ennovate to develop customer requirements, commissioning plans and perform field commissioning of energy systems to ensure proper and efficient building operation. The Commissioning Agent will advise mechanical design engineers and clients on best energy efficient and reliable energy system designs. In addition, commissioning agent will oversee bidding and procurement process for energy efficient equipment and commission all HVAC, lighting and control systems.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

[+] Gather client's system, maintenance, energy efficiency and comfort requirement goals for HVAC & lighting systems

[+] Discuss client's goals with design team

[+] Evaluate various types of HVAC Systems for life-cycle cost analysis

[+] Develop commissioning plan

[+] Work with energy engineers to produce energy models for various system options

[+] Provide final guidance on construction of energy systems to design engineers

[+] Aid design engineers in HVAC, lighting and controls specification and solicitation

[+] Review construction drawings and specifications prior to bid solicitation

[+] Review submittal documents for energy equipment

[+] Aid project construction manager in review and inspection of energy systems

[+] Commission energy equipment and ensure proper operation and energy efficiency

[+] Develop re-commissioning guidelines for clients

[+] Aid contractors and engineers in achieving project success

QUALIFICATIONS

BSME or related degree plus minimum of 5-15 years’ technical engineering, ESCO, and/or consulting experience in HVAC design, energy analysis or energy efficiency projects, with demonstrated ability to analyze and quantify energy and operational needs, use, and savings projections. Experience in multiple facets of energy efficiency industry including project management, sales and engineering. Professional Engineers license a plus for this classification.

REQUIREMENTS

[+] Exposure to facility operations and mechanical installation projects involving chiller and boiler plants, motors, VSDs, HVAC retrofit and distributed generation projects.

[+] Experience with measurement and verification, project pricing and estimating desirable.

[+] Experience with building simulation and related software.

[+] Excellent written, and computer communication skills required.

[+] Professional registration and/or CEM preferred.

[+] Valid Drivers’ License issued by state of residence and in good standing.

[+] U.S. Citizenship Required.

[+] Typing ability of 35 words / minute or greater.

[+] Ability to travel required. (20% to 30% Travel)
