Energy Engineer - Job Advertisement

Ennovate is a growing Energy Service Company (ESCO) located in Aurora, Colorado that offers performance-contracting and building commissioning services to institutional facility owners such as schools, colleges, and hospitals. Projects offered to clients include lighting retrofits, direct digital control upgrades, HVAC upgrades, variable speed drives, renewable energy systems and many other beneficial energy retrofit solutions that improve facility comfort and decrease utility and other operational costs.

We are currently seeking Energy Engineers to provide technical expertise in the development of energy savings projects for Ennovate’s commercial and institutional customers. These projects include performance contracts, HVAC Upgrades, and new technology applications for schools, hospitals, government buildings and various other commercial facilities. The Energy Engineer will work to identify and evaluate energy cost savings opportunities, determine customers’ technical requirements, and assist with project implementation.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

[+] Gather key details including utility data, facility profiles, site drawings, system operating characteristics.

[+] Visit project sites to assess and document mechanical, electrical, controls, plumbing systems.

[+] Investigate, analyze, and document energy and water cost reduction measures.

[+] Conduct detailed engineering analysis including baseline models, end-use analysis, and post retrofit analysis.

[+] Prepare and present technical content, proposals, and detailed feasibility reports.

[+] Prepare statements of work for subcontractors to implement energy conservation measures.

[+] Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

ENTRY LEVEL; BSME or related degree with some experience in HVAC design, energy analysis or energy efficiency projects, with exposure to analyzing and quantifying energy and operational needs, use, and savings projections (plus additional requirements noted below).

MID LEVEL: BSME or related degree plus minimum of 2-5 years’ technical engineering, ESCo, and/or consulting experience in energy analysis or energy efficiency projects, with demonstrated ability to analyze and quantify energy and operational needs, use, and savings projections (plus additional requirements noted below).

SENIOR LEVEL: BSME or related degree plus minimum of 5-15 years’ technical engineering, ESCO, and/or consulting experience in energy analysis or energy efficiency projects, with demonstrated ability to analyze and quantify energy and operational needs, use, and savings projections. Experience in multiple facets of energy efficiency industry including project management, sales and engineering. Professional Engineers license a plus for this classification. REQUIREMENTS

[+] Exposure to facility operations and mechanical installation projects involving chiller and boiler plants, motors, VSDs, HVAC retrofit and distributed generation projects.

[+] Experience with measurement and verification, project pricing and estimating desirable.

[+] Experience with building simulation and related software (Trane Trace 700™ preferred).

[+] Excellent written, and computer communication skills required. [+] Professional registration and/or CEM preferred.

[+] Experience with building commissioning processes involved in new construction and retro commissioning is a plus.

[+] Valid Drivers’ License issued by state of residence and in good standing.

[+] U.S. Citizenship Required.

[+] Typing ability of 35 words / minute or greater.

[+] Ability to travel required. (10% to 20% Travel)
